It’s 2019 and if you’re not planning for how you can improve your technology and processes, let’s start you off by talking Sage Field Operations. First, this is a new product from Sage. The platform integrates completely with Sage 100 Contractor and Sage 300 Construction and Real Estate, eliminating the need for manual or redundant data entry. In essence, it creates a seamless connection between the field and hub, allowing you to improve accuracy by assigning only specific jobs and cost codes to an employee.

Who’s it for?

Sage Field Operations is for Sage users that are looking to extend their software functionality. Without much effort, you can add the ability to enter payroll time and add access information from a mobile device in the field.

For example, if you’re a General Contractor you can allow your field team to log their time against a job and cost code while on the job site. Then, you can electronically approve that time without hunting anyone down, allowing that time to flow seamlessly into your Sage 300 Construction or Sage 100 Contractor software. If you’re a Sub such as an electrician, you can access drawings and RFIs while on location, make notes on the job and even communicate issues to other technicians.

What can it do?

Project managers can quickly identify available resources and schedule construction jobs through job assignments. The customizable dispatch board allows you to quickly schedule employees, Subs, and equipment to jobs, while the map view allows you to visualize the locations of resources. In addition, you can schedule PTO, alongside work orders and job assignments, using miscellaneous assignment scheduling. Laborers enter payroll time from their mobile device, which is then automatically routed for approval and seamlessly pushed into Sage accounting.

What do I get from it?

Reduce paperwork and administrative time by tracking time, materials, billing amounts, and producing daily field reports quickly and accurately. With Sage Field Operations, you can effectively eliminate duplicate data entry, freeing you up to do more important things. Improve communication between field technicians and office staff and make more proactive decisions by capturing details in real time.

Conclusion:

Not to be confused with Sage Service Operations, Sage Field Operations is a multifaceted tool that enables contractors to be more efficient, more productive and make decisions faster. Why is this important? It all bolsters your bottom line. With more free time, there’s no telling what you could accomplish.
